Roadmap presentation and publishing
Compare the context customers can see and the control your team has over sharing plans and progress.
Teams choose the Jira fields customers see and write a separate public description for each roadmap item. This creates a customer-facing view with the planning context the team wants to share.
Jira data remains current in the backend, with control over when updates are published to stakeholders and customers.
Published roadmaps can expose selected card attributes such as status, ownership, health, confidence, custom fields, and Customer Importance Score. Makers and admins explicitly publish or unpublish eligible roadmaps and can add a passcode.
Release-note creation and distribution
Consider how delivery work becomes a clear product update, from drafting through to publishing and distribution.
AI drafts release notes directly from selected Jira work items. Reusable templates, examples, and writing instructions guide the structure and style, with editing controls to refine the final update.
Productboard does not provide an AI workflow specifically for drafting customer-facing release notes. General AI writing features are a different capability. Productboard does not provide reusable customer-facing release-note templates. Productboard does not provide configurable AI instructions for customer-facing release-note tone and format.
Customer demand and prioritisation
Look beyond vote totals to understand which requests matter, who needs them, and how they inform priorities.
Scoring and prioritisation use the capabilities of Jira and Jira Product Discovery, including custom formulas such as RICE in JPD.
Personal wishlists offer configurable selection limits and hidden counts, encouraging customers to choose what matters most. Why personal wishlists work better than public voting.
Productboard supports configurable formulas and fields for evaluating product opportunities. Formula availability varies by plan. Customer segments group users or companies and can be used to filter feedback and prioritise features.
Aggregated customer fields can roll up values such as account ARR onto product items for prioritisation.
Jira integration and administration
Look at how feedback connects to Jira work and what your team needs to manage across the two tools.
Feedback on a roadmap item links automatically to its Jira work item, keeping customer input connected to the work being discussed. Teams can also link general feedback from the inbox. Jira-connected roadmaps retain control over when updates are shared publicly.
Productboard items can be pushed, imported, or linked to Jira issues and retain the relationship for synchronisation. Mappings and the Jira authorizer’s permissions determine available operations. Mapped Productboard and Jira statuses can synchronise automatically, including two-way configurations.
